This is a three month KOTH challenge. I will be working with Sequoia over the summer on this one. Summer KOTH runs thru June, July and August. It is a kid oriented KOTH challenge. There will be no measuring boards, species limitations or other fancy rules.
The object over the summer is simple . . . take kids fishing as much as possible.
The KOTH award will go to the angler who has the most documented fishing trips with a child or children under the age of 18. They do not even have to be your own kids, any kid will do. They must have fished with you, and you have to take a picture of you and them with a fish for it to count.
You can fish fresh or salt water, and catch any species you want.
At the end of the summer, the angler with the most documented fishing trips with kids will be KING OF THE HILL.
In order for a trip to count you must submit a picture of yourself and a kid, or kids, holding a fish. The photo must contain a date stamp, or you must be holding a piece of paper with the date written on it so that it can be easily read.
Guys, have a great summer. Take some kids fishing, and build some memories.

I appreciate that, thanks. Unfortunately I have very little time for fun fishing in the summer. I have taken hundreds of kids fishing ,most with their parents who are paying customers. Nothiong makes your day better than a ten year olds first fish on a fly rod. Or the looks on their face when we flip rocks and catch crawfish and look at bugs. The main thing to remember when taking kids fishing is they bore easily. When the bite is slow, look for alternatives to fishing like exploring out of the way places, wade around and catch minnows and bugs etc. Nothing sours a kid on fishing quicker than boredom and frustration. Never ever promise a kid you going to take him fishing and not follow through.

I want to add a little wrinkle to the rules .. . . If you video tape a child's catch and post the video, it counts as two trips. What do you guys think?

Do I count as a kid? My wife and in-laws tell me I am just a big kid when it comes to fishing.

This is my son who made the cast and reeled the fish in all by himself.
