We went to the Comal river this weekend and struck out.I could see the Bass everywhere but couldn't get them to hit was just insane.I mean I saw schools of at least 10 and nothing for 2 days.A young lady showed up borrowed a pole I tied a rebel cricket Next day she caught another one and that was it.I was out fished by a girl  Cheesy

You still down there Big Al? When I go to New Braunsfels; me and the kid fish the Guadalupe River for the Guadalupe Bass. We use these little jigs and tear them up at first crossing by the dam. We normally use all yellow in color.

Na home I had some of those to but had what I think was buegills tap them 1 or 2 times but the bass just swam right by them.I sightcast for reds and seem to think I did it all right put it right on front of them over and over I jigged topwater spinnerbait crankbait etc.etc.etc.We are going back in july on the 7th into the weekend with the kids this time so I will try again.Me and my wife did the Rockin O tube float down the river.Water was cold but we had a blast.Someone told me that the Bass were spawning and will not feed on anything. Now that I think of it they stayed in the same place the whole time. When i threw near threm they never left just swam in a circle and came back to were they were sitting.

Big Al, I grew up fishing the Comal and Landa lake and it seemed that I was the only kid around that could tear those bass up!! I've caught several 6 lb+ bass out of Landa lake. THe secret is to imitate crawfish. I prefer a Rebel "Wee Craw" crank bait (the small or medium sized one) on 6 lb mono. Small jig & craw setups work great too. You have to think "finesse" when you're fishing that pure clear water Cool  Also keep in mind how many people (that don't fish often) throw anything they can come up with from the bottom of a decrepid tackle box that gets used once a year at these bass.

Hope this helps, let me know how you do in July...
