This month will be Redfish Limit.
Scoring will be the total combined length of 3 Redfish.
The fish do not have to be caught on the same day.
Undersized fish are allowed so post what you got and upgrade later. No oversized fish.
In case of a tie, the fish that were posted first, wins.
Pictures - You need to submit a picture of the fish on or next to a legible tape measure or bump board.
The picture needs to include a knife (fillet, pocket, hunting, steak, butter, your choice) placed next to the fish (refer to the cork placed next to the fish for November). No dates will be required as the knife will be proof that the picture was taken during January.
Pictures must be posted by midnight on the last day of the month.
Tails, pinch them if you want to, position them how ever you need to in order to get the most length out of your fish but not going over the slot.
The fish mouths need to be closed OR the measurements must start from the nose of the fish. PLEASE SEE THE SAMPLE PICTURES IN THE "STICKY" POST. A fish that has been improperly measured will receive a 1" deduct.
All fish caught with fly tackle will have an additional inch added to their length. In lieu of the knife, the photo must include the specific "Fly Pattern" for the month that identifies that the fish was taken on fly tackle in January.
For this month, the most inches wins. It doesn't matter if you have all 3 fish or not, most inches wins.
Please take a picture of at least one of your fish with you holding it so that it can be placed on the home page, it will look better than a fish on a bump board.
A couple of members came up with a prize for this month. Red Raider will be posting up the details in the near future.
Just FYI, I am heading to Durango in the morning so I may not be able to answer questions for a couple of days. I will be checking on things when I can. FLY PATTERN FOR JANUARY

Llama,Sequoia, and myself decided that the prizes for koth need to be a little more apealing. So this month the 3 of us pooled togther a little money and bought a gift certificate from a board sponsor. We hope that in future months others will follow our lead and put something up for that months winner.
January KOTH champ will win a $50 gift card from GRIND TERMIAL TACKLE.
Llama I am still at deer campM you get first shot.

Red Raider. I'm not above taking the first shot at the reds but I hope you get your deer soon so nobody will have to listen to the compaining about how Llama had the advantage.

DW you were on oversized reds last year. They don't count here.

I read that on the first post. Oversized reds not needed.

OK, I'm on the board with a nice 24.5 inch red. Had another 18" red but lost the darn knife over the side while trying to get the photo so I just let him go without taking the picture.
I am really having a difficult time keeping the fish on the bumper board and getting the picture. Short of whacking the fish on the head, does anybody have any ideas how to make this easier.

Simple, the way I did it last year was put the red on the bumper board on the floor and back it into the wall, standing, put your foot under its mouth, close it with your left foot and the right foot on bottom part of its tail measuring the longest fin and take a pic.
