I love the idea. I think that there are enough fly fisherman out there to have a seperate KOTh for them. I would check with Sequia the designated moderator of KOTH and get some advice on how to run it. you may have to do the leg work (since it was your idea), but I do not think is that much of a time commitment.

Just a thought, instead of having a separate KOTH, maybe have a "bonus inch" if the fish is caught using a fly rod?

I'd be happy to do anything I can to help. I am in Rockport from Dec 1st to March 1st. I'll be leaving Montana on Nov 20th. I like the idea of the bonus inch (maybe 2" ). I love to flyfish when the opportunity arises and conditions permit. I also love light tackle and artificials so I guess I'm not a purist.

It apperars you are right. It seems that only one person has any interest. Oh Well, it was a good idea anyway.

I like the "additional inch" if taken on a fly idea, I think that would be a good start.

Starting in December since November has already started or since there are not any fish posted, should I amend the rules for this month??

Thanks Sequoia. I don't think starting now will cause any heartburn. We all know this is just a fun competition for braggin' rights. I'm sure that if anybody has a problem with starting now, they'll let you know. If there's anything I can do to help, let me know. 16 days and we're on our way to Texas

Alright, I have you fly guys set up.
I have a request, right now I am asking that you include a cork in the picture just like all other competitors as well as proof that the fish was caught using fly tackle. ie - fly rod/reel, fly in the mouth, etc. This could be a little difficult to hold the fish, place the cork as well as the identifying object but I didn't know how else to do it. Not being a fly guy "yet", I'm not sure what to request in the pictures.
Capt. Cook, Llama, I will be looking your way for suggestions for future KOTH' picture ideas. I need to include an item in the pictures to identify that the fish was caught during the particular month (this will change month to month and should be an item that most anglers, fly or not, will have) as well as an item proving that it was caught on fly tackle OR I would be OK with the fly guys having their own identifying object separate from the rest so that you only have to have one item in the picture but it needs to change month to month and needs to be something that most fly guys will have. I will need suggestions before the start of December.

U could use pliers one month. We all have pliers. You could put a hand signal in the pic like guns up, or thumbs up, or the teasipper geasture. Or peace sign, or hang loose sighn.
That should get you by for a while.
