What would be a good compass to put on a kayak to fish in saltwater. any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have used one like shown here for over thirty years from Mt. Rainer Washington to Gulf Shores Alabama.  On the water or land.  Hiking, biking, paddling etc it has always worked well for me.  Now for navigation in a maze of swamp channels like in Florida, probably a GPS system would be better.
