That was really a pretty wimpy fish to take the top spot. I sure hope it takes more than one spot to win in March. Looks like we have a bunch of no fishing sons of guns on this site. Come on guys and ladies get busy!!!!!

Darth
First I am no where near an expert but do spend a lot of time reading and discussing the fishery with TPWD. biologists.
High pressure exerts pressures on their swim bladder making them feel bloated or uncomfortable. Been told same feeling we get while sitting in a recliner watching a football game and eat TOOOOOO much junk food. We won't get up to go get more but if the wife offers to bring us another cold one we don't turn them down.  Same with the fish, they will not chase the bait but if it stops or swims by slowly they are going to eat it. I guess this must be true as it has worked for me for longer than I would like to admit. Hope this answers your question. Now I need to go to sleep, I get to fight the WIND AGAIN IN THE MORNING. I'M SICK OF WATER coming over the top of my waders.

This is a great explanation. Can you or someone else here explain to someone less experienced what affect the moon has on fish behavior other than it's affect on the tides?

Tokio
The following will give you the basic affects moon has on wildlife and fish.
As the moon rises or sets is a minor feed period. When the moon is directly above you or below the earth is a major.
A classic example is next time you are riding around look in the pastures along the road:
Most of the cattle will be up feeding or the majority will be lying down.
Another example is a question.
Have you ever been sitting out side and all of a sudden all the birds, crickets and frogs start chirping. That usually signifies the start of a major feeding cycle.
Now most people ask me what do you do when not a minor or major. I STILL FISH! Remember I said when the cattle are up or down not all of them do so at the same time. But the vast majority will follow suit one way or the other.
But one THING I ALWAYS DO IS: I am going to be on my best spot during a major or minor feed period.
Now the deer hunters have it figured out:
During the full moon how many of you have killed your best buck in the middle of the day? Full moon is always below the earth at midday as is the dark of the moon. This is why I REALLY like full and dark moon days in the winter, puts my best bite in the middle of the day and the warmest usually.
I hope I haven’t totally confused you but this is the best way I can explain.
