My dad and I hit the boat ramp at 6:30 and we headed out towards the spoils, fished along the outgoing tide in the ICW and there was no bite. We moved along to Marker 99, Cullen channel, and few dink trout were caught. We headed to the Y in Arroyo city to jig Gulps on the bottom and no bite either. The tides was very low and we could not go to my hot spots.

Water temp was hovering around 63 degrees and some large trout was seen sitting in potholes in the east side but the water was too low and did not risk stopping in case I would not be able to holeshot and plane the 22.5 foot BayMaster with a 3 blade prop so we continued on towards north of Duncans and we caught some dink trout and reds. We fished hard and I managed to land two trout, a 16 and the other was a bit over 21. We were using Gulps but the action was very slow today. So I decided to catch some mullet and we were chunking on the flats in foot deep water. My dad caught the first red but due to his weak knot, he lost the fish but I estimate it to be over 30 inches. We continued chunking and started catching oversized reds and some small dink reds in the mix. I landed a 23 and a 28 inch red right away while my dad landed a huge 34 inch red that took some time to land. I caught another red just the same size and we decided to tag them for a feast on the grill soon. We had a great time and stayed out all day because my dad was persitant to stay and fish. Fish was still biting when the sun was setting over the horizon and it was getting dark and we made a beeline along the shoreline towards Pt Isabel to beat the dark and made it in time. Just finished cleaning the fish an hour ago and eating a broiled fish sandwich before I hit the sack. Here are some pics of the two redfish with the bumper board.
By the way, did anybody lose a yellow Cajun Thunder with a natural shrimp Gulp inside the mouth of a 16 inch trout I found at Gas Wells. I saw a yellow cork going underwater when I went past and went back for it. Whoever lost the Cajun Thunder, I want to thank you for the cork with rigging and the freebie trout.
