Went out this past Friday for alittle cast and blast in Arroyo City. Started the morning shooting but the ducks were not cooperating in Rattlesnake, only managed 3 pintails. Had a ton of pintails come in but only allowed to shoot 1 a piece. Started fishing at about 9:45 and decided to head east of the ICW starting behind bird island. Came upon a huge group of reds northeast of Dunkins but one of the guys on the boat decided to lift the foot rest on my leaning post and I almost fell while trying to get off of the console to shut down the boat. Well by the time I regained my composure we had traveled to far south and could not locate the scool again. I jumped back up on my console and drove all around and could not locate them again. So we headed further south and noticed a few single and doubles so we decided to stop and we were able to get 2 small trout and one 28" red. At around 3 pm we decided to head back to Rattlesnake as there was just too much traffic and it was a good choice there were only 2 other boats in the area, so we decided to wade the shoreline and by 4:30 were able to string up another 5 reds and 4 more trout. It all ended up well and 2 of us decided to hunt alittle more since we left our decoys out and added another 4 redheads to the bunch.

Nice haul of ducks and fish, do you guys shoot out of a blind or the brush along the shoreline? Or do you guys do the same script as Rambo when he pops out of the water and starts blazing?  Grin

BaffinSprint, yes, Chilly Willy's is open, Captian Villanueva, a buddy and I ate there starting off with fried calamari and double cheeseburgers, was worth the eating after a day of awesome fishing.

Awesome man I am glad they are still open back in college we shut that place down a time or two.  We use to get up early and go to sanchez bait stand AKA dirty sanchez. There was also a state park down the road that I wish we could have taken the four wheelers into.  One of these days I would like to go back down there,  I have a friend that ownes some property on the strip right next to chilly willys if he comes back from wyoming this year I will see if we can get a trip going on and have a little get together.
