We cut our trip a little short today as sight fishing conditions went from bad to worse. Started out with a WNW wind about 10 mph with a few clouds. By 11:00 we had 15mph winds and total cloud coverage. Not good for sight fishing. We saw about 20 big trout (25"-30") but could not get any of the lovely ladies to dance with us. My client did get a few nice reds on TTF Salt & Pepper Killer Flats Minnows before we called it a day around noon. Sorry, no photos.

Did my first sight casting with Rooster last week, it's great. Can't wait for the 7th of Feb. I am praying for great weather for our trip.

Ankle Deep won't ever be the same.......wish we would have got a few more to bite.
It was a blast!
Ankle even got "baptised"....falling off the poling platform in a foot of water and 3 feet of "poot-mud"!
He is a hard core member of the "Redfish/Trout Sightcasting Club"! Grin

Ankle you'll be on the front of the boat and no one in the history of the world has fallen out of my casting platform. Lost a few from the center of the boat though. Hopefully we'll have clear skies and a light breeze in Feb and Rooster's tips will pay off for you. Way to go Rooster...converted another one to sight fishing.
