Looking forward to fishing with you on Tuesday. Looks like things have picked up in Aransas Bay. Jay and his group caught over 100 fish, mostly Reds; however one of the many trout they did catch was 30" and 8 lbs!!
Water temp 58 and the front pushed most of the water out of the bays.
This will be my first time in an IBIS. I look forward to the fellowship and fishing.

Good luck guys. Ankle you will not be disappointed on that Ibis. It is the best fishing platform I have ever fished on. Oh yeah be sure you hold on because that thing has some serious torque.

I'm heading out to Rockport and Ankle Deep tomorrow Morning after my physical therapy.

After our trip on Tuesday, I'm heading to the ranch for Thanksgiving and family time.  NO hunters!  Yea!
Looking forward to a wonderful, blessed time! Grin

It was hard to say which was better, the captain or the boat. Rooster is a super guy and the IBIS is unbelievable.
Tried my best to impress Rooster Monday evening when he arrived by having a BBQ with the 18 ducks we had shot earlier in the day and the red fish we had caught. I'm told when a guy has been feed by Heavyduty the are hard to impress. Went to Mission Bay Monday morning and the four of us shot 18 birds, then fished around Newcombs bend for the redfish. Should of had our limit but Ole Ankle Deep missed a few! Found a great recipe for duck. I honestly thought shooting them and giving them away was the only thing worth doing. The secret was preparing them like we do dove breasts. After removing the breast they were marinated in Italian dressing for 6 hours and then tenderized with a mallet. We then cut them in 1/2, added a piece of Jalapeno, cream cheese, roll with piece of bacon around them an put on skewer. Add baked potato, beans and a salad and it made for a good meal. Bill prepared the red fish on the half shell and it was also delicious.
Tuesday morning Bill (Rooster) and I headed to St Charles Bay. Saw lots of reds but they were sure finicky. Bill of course has the touch and is a very good teacher as well as a great fisherman. I did manage to show Bill something I don't think he has ever done; a swan dive off the back platform!!! Thank the Lord we were in soft mud, the landing was fine, sure works well to keep a guy humble. I did manage to catch 2 trout 2 reds and a flounder. I also got to site cast for the first time and think it is great, reminds me of hunting.
After only two meetings I consider Bill a very close friend as I do all my brothers in Christ. Hope Bill will fish with me again soon despite all the mud I put on the deck! Can't wait to have the trip with Capt Mike and Brazos on the 7th of Feb. Be blessed.

like the old song goes..........

"Oh Lord, it's hard....to be humble.  And perfect in every way!"

NOT!  lol Grin

We did have fun though.....those "rubber-lipped" Reds did not want to eat too good while we were there!
