I am posting this message up in hopes that i am only over reacting, a buddy of mine headed out to the arroyo this morning at 7 am with a couple of friends and since then his wife nor myself have been able to get in contact with him nor any of the other guys. Im hoping that maybe someone saw them out in the water or at the dock off of Adolph Thomae Park at Arroyo City. The coast guard has been dispatched, like I said, I hope we are only over reacting! If you have any info please post it or PM me please. I will try to post pics of the boat that they were in. Thx

He's a novice boatsman and has only been out one other time which was last weekend. His wife told me that last time they headed out of the arroyo and went south towards south rattle snake or north south cullen bay, what i gathered from her description. He might have attempeted to access east of bird island and green island. Maybe even peyton bay, im really not sure. Thx

His wife just notified me that he's been found, cold but safe. I guess it's always better to be safe than sorry. Thx

They got stuck in the flats and couldn't get up, I think he might've either messed up his lower unit or wore out his prop. Said they walked the boat for two hours in search of deeper water but couldn't find any, when they finally did the boat wouldn't move. Took a while til they flagged someone down that towed them in. Apparently he said that they were catching fish which is why they didn't try to get out earlier!

Hey bro..might want to take a cell phone..and or a PLB (personal locator beacon) or at the very least a marine radio. I spent many a cold wet night on the king ranch shoreline back in the 70's and 80's because of boat problems. NOT Fun!!

I had my phone, but i was more concerned of getting out of the water before it got dark....my wife panic'd and starting making phone calls when i never called her....i was never scared or worried i was just focused on getting out before it got dark, calling someone for help was my last resort but i felt like we were gonna get out sooner or later...but that is my mistake, i think thats every husband's job "to notify your wife where ur at all times"...good thing is i learned a lesson, and it wont happen again.
