I just purchased a Curado 300E7 and I am looking for a rod for this reel. This reel will be used mostly for casting plugs and fishing the jetties.  What would be the best rod for this reel?

Well I decided on the rod off choice.  I have an old Allstar medium light 7'8" rod which I think will work with the Curado.  The rod is rated from 8lb - 17lb test so I think it should be okay.  I spooled the reel with 14lb line. What do you all think.  Is this a good combination or should I just buy one off those inter-coastal ugly stick they sell at walmart?

Give it a try if it doesn't work like you think it should , then start looking @ something else.
