Took out Mr. Flat Trout on a late morning trip yesterday January 12, Wednesday. We hit the water at about 11. We boated 2 nice reds within the hour. Then as the bite slows I go back to look for some more fish, we saw a few reds scattering but nothing worth stopping for. Not much action so I make a drift a little bit deeper water to maybe catch some trout and that one big one i'v been searching for all winter. We were able to boat 4 keeper trout, Flat Trout catching one trout at 21 inches and another at 20. We caught plenty of rat reds and trout till we finally hook into a redfish to end the trip. All the redfish were between 24-27 inches. Total for the day was 3 reds and 4 trout. I threw a plum/chart TTF minnow and I'm not sure what color Flat Trout was throwing but he was using the Shiney Hiney Jighead.

Thanks for the trip Rookie and it was the perfect day; almost 80 degrees with pure sun, south wind to start then turned into a west wind to finish....perfect drifting combination.  Mrs. Flat Trout is very jealous of the pics but she will be down for the next trip.

We still gotta come up with a new handle for Rookie, he's a very accomplished boat handler and fisherman Grin

Thanks again and see Y'all in March and, hopefully, our offer will be accepted and we will have a nice place on The Arroyo.

I ended up tossing the same pattern as Rookie but in Mrs. Trout Killer with the purple Shiney Hiney head, they are awesome!

Rookie, I took a nice shot of you with a nice red, post is up to further your claim of no longer being a "rookie" Grin
