I have an 18' boat in need of a paint job (likely a strip and paint job).  Which place is best for this sort of work?  Thanks, any knowledge is much appreciated.

Can't specify any certain place but I'm sure there are many including all the RGV boat builders.  Here's what I was told by the builder of my boat for what it's worth......to paint or re-gel properly the boat has to be de-rigged including removing the center console so it can be turned upside-down to work on.  It's a very pricey affair so do your checking before committing.

Take it for what it's worth and certainly if I've been given the wrong scoop, correct me...just passing along what I was told by a boat building shop.  Good luck Grin

I personally have not had a boat painted but was interested in repainting and re-gel coating my boat.  I was highly recommended to Mr. Pete Perez out of Donna.  It is my understanding that he retired from Dargel with 20+ years of service, and is also very reasonable as far as price goes..  I don't have his contact number but I'm sure someone here on this forum can get you in contact with him...

Thanks for the info -- like that word "reasonable."

Here are some links to my project of early last year.  Whole boat got redone, deck and hull.
