We just returned home after 12 glorious nights on the LLM at Port Mansfield. We rented a place that had a private lighted pier and we also got to get the boat in the water three different days although one day we had electrical problems and couldn't launch....DRAT!!!
Anyway, we hit the end of the pier each night from about 9-midnight and the trout did not disappoint. The bait of the day was a TTF Shiney Hiney head with TTF Trout Killers that were colored like strawberry jam with sparkles; the trout loved 'em. The softer Mrs. Trout Killers in bone with Shiney Hineys were also popular. Daytime flounder hit just about anything but, alas, all were shorter than allowed.
All in all a great trip and the best thing is Delia's tamales frozen and back home with us plus about 30# of filets.
Oh, I won't mention the porpoise that blew up right under me while standing at the end of the pier in the dark, damn near gave me the big one
