Recently it dawned on me that some folks may not be experienced enough and/or do not have proper boat ramp educate to move the chains forward in a productive manner.......
Because of this I feel I should start a thread to help those who might have trouble at the launching pad, please help to inform others as we start a count up of rules when launching/tailoring our watercraft..
Rule#1- Install plugs and remove straps if possible before launch.. Rule#2- Get boat equipped with tackle/gear before its time to launch.. Rule#3- Have a plan to manually launch boat in case motor does not start right away.. (ie*rope on cleat and move out of the way) Rule#4- Help a brother out if hes flying solo..... Rule#5- Be a minimalist (*try and take up less space and position your boat to make way for others) Rule#6- Once boat is launched please move vehicle forward and let other party's through. Rule#7- Be Polite to make everyone's day a good one.........
Feel free to add on I just wanted to start some ground rules...

Ground rule #1 - Spend as little time on the actual ramp as possible - ramps are for launching/trailering boats NOT for fixing motors, rigging fishing tackle, and or drinking coffee.
All that other stuff can be done in the parking lot next to the ramp not on the ramp itself.

Also, Once you are done, have trailer and truck ready to get your bucket out of the water so others may get done, get fish cleaned, and get home for their next enjoyable trip.

When there's a 2 lane ramp, please stay in 1 lane. Not both

Ok I have a couple to add
#8 if launching in the dark please turn headlights off on truck so that others can see where they are backing #9 Please park your truck and trailer in a clearly marked designated spot and "do not" block anyone in. "If you show up at 9am do not expect to park close to ramp" Sorry
Thanks

Oh.. and if you happen to see a "Non-Fisherman" lurking about someones Truck and Trailer..might want to see what they are really up too!! Not really a rule..more like being a back watcher for your brother anglers!!

Also, Once you are done, have trailer and truck ready to get your bucket out of the water so others may get done, get fish cleaned, and get home for their next enjoyable trip. Was at the dock yesterday and an older gentlemen decides he needs to leave his boat parked along the ramp so he could clean his fish..waited my turn in line and was out of the water and this guy was still cleaning fish. He occupied the ramp with his boat for at least twenty minutes or more.. Some people have no consideration for others..

Seems like it never fails... I try and joke around with them and say something funny to drop a hint but I don't know if it works.

Don't jump line just because the person ahead of you is putting in plugs or unstrapping their boat while in line.

Great point.... cutting in line elevates blood pressure and is hard on morale.

Rule #£ if your pansy 2WD truck is peeling out trying to pull up your boat don't just mash on the throttle and peel out, friction is reduced with a spinning wheel! Also make sure you know the difference between 'D' and 'R'.

YES SIR... R is not a acronym for race.... what a valid point. Also Spinning ain't winning.

lol...I had to unhitch my boat and pull 2 trucks with pretty rims and low profile tires one time, because they were spinning out. We only have 2 lanes and these guys had both occupied. 89 Burb pulled both rigs out.
