As I am writing this report I am stranded on HWY 48.  One of my trailer tires blew out, and my spare is being delivered to me by a friend.

I spent this afternoon with Trout Thumper.  We launched out of the $1 boat ramp  at about 12:30, and headed toward Mexiquita and South Bay.  We fished till sunset and never saw another boat out fishing.  The wind was brisk enough to keep most people off the water.

We boated limits of reds in the first hour.  We probably landed in the neighborhood of ten reds at our first stop, we really were not counting, but Thumper was kicking my ass 2 to 1 (I always try to let my guests catch more than me).

We moved to south bay and boated several more reds.  Thumper lucked into a blind and retarded flounder on the table top . . . The table top . . . Let me repeat THE TABLE TOP.  What a lucky ******* (I am always happy when my guests do well, but it was getting ridiculous).

On to the hunt for a big trout, yes South Bay holds big trout.  Certainly, Thumper would not out fish me in one of my favorite trout holes.  All I can say is that son of a donkey, Trout Thumper, may never be invited back on my boat.  . . EVER.

Pictures and voodoo curses to follow.

In this photo if you look closely you will see a yellow sign in the back ground, but pay no attention to that . . .  if you look even more closely you will see the shadow of a guy flicking the bird at Thumper.

This fish was released and swam off strong.

Perhaps the best picture of the day . . . . in this one, a lucky photographer was able to snap a quick picture of the best fisherman alive south of the arroyo while he was working his magic and cursing Thumper.   Sometimes you just need to be alone with your thoughts.

Lure of the day was a purple/metal flake and white tailed kelly wiggler.  No mullet were harmed in the making of this post.
