Fished with two friends a few weeks ago on the San Jose shoreline throwing artifical's, 4" Chicken on a Chain. Dave hooks up what I thought might be a Sting Ray. He's all worrided about being spooled, he had NEVER even caught a Red. I checked his drag and it was set OK and I said enjoy the fight thinking we hope this "fish" gets off before it gets too close. 15 minutes later he brings in a 50 pounds Black Drum!!!!!!! He wanted to know what we are going to do with it. I said I don't think you want to mount it and we aren't going to eat it...so we did the best thing CPR.
I don't think he will ever forget this day.

I do not know which is uglier; the big fish or the fishermen.  Wink
Congrats on catching that monster drum.
