Alright guys I'm needing your input on some of this boats. I'm looking for a boat that will run shallow, get a good hole shot. Also maybe one that's handles the rough waters ok as I sometimes take the wife out. I really like the Dargel Skout but I've been looking at this other boats and it's making it really tough trying to decide. Thanks for your help!!!

Don't know about Shoalwater.

However in my opinion The SS is better than a Dgl in chop and the ride is smother.  That being said they both float in about the same depth of water and have very similar hole shots. I also think the SS has a better resale than Dgl.

No idea on the shoal water. I own and use both SS and drgl, but marker150 hit it on the head. Best to test drive both and see for yourself.

Peoples opinions of boats will vary greatly, best to ride in all of them you are considering to form your own opinion.

That's the best advice yet, narrow them down and ride in the ones you're considering.

I'd have to say the SS or the HDX Kat from Dargel

I went through the same deal as you and did alot of research as far as what boat was the best one and found out that the best one for me would not be the best one for someone else. With that said I will tell you that I ended up getting a 2005 Shoalwater 21 Cat from a good friend of mine that wanted to upgrade to a Shoalwater 23 Cat and I love this boat. I am a fan of Shoalwater from the first time I went fishing on the Cat back in 2005. I also have friends that own Dargel and SS, all being good boats and my friends would not trade them for anything else. Your best bet is going to be for you to go out and try the diffrent boats you like and see what best fits your needs. Have fun boat hunting and enjoy whatever you end up buying, good luck!!!!!!!

I have a 19' dargel skout,if you'd like I can take you out one of these days and show you how dry it rides and what it can do in skinny water.

I have a 2010 custom 190 shout for sale. It is still listed on this site. I have not updated the price, but I have reduced it to $33k. It has every possible option you can think of. Send me a pm and we can go out so you can see what a Dargel can do!

I asolutetly 100% agree. I have a 210 Dargel Skout and would not trade for "any" boat. Did I mention my last rig was a 21ft SS? No joke Dargel is the real deal!!!!!!!!
