I had the pleasure of fishing a young man and his dad from the Houston area today.
The morning started off cool and mainly clear, light north winds, we started working the edge of flats for reds, with live shrimp and cut mullet. After several moves and only 1 17'' rat red we made a move to area that had produced fish a few days before, the area we started on also produced fish a few days before, but we had bait fish and we had not been able to find them this morning. We saw reds and bait working on the next stop, just couldn't get anything going. We moved to a drop off and worked the edges and the bite was on. Normally this time of year, the fish have schooled up and are in pods of 3-4'' of each other, but not today. They caught fish from 8 - 28'' in the same area. Dad got his largest the 28'' today. Thanks guys for a great day on the water and look forward to having you back again soon.
