This Saturday, Oct. 15, 2011 photo provided by Texas AgriLife Extension Service, Red Tide Ranger Dr. Richard Kline, with the University of Texas at Brownsville Department of Biology, examines a
6-foot tarpon that washed ashore during a red tide bloom on South Padre Island, Texas. Historic drought conditions are fueling the largest algae bloom in more than a decade along the Texas Gulf Coast, killing fish, sparking warnings about beach conditions and making throats scratchy, researchers said Monday. Officials were not sure if red tide caused the death. (AP Photo/Texas AgriLife Extension Service via The Brownsville Herald, Tony Reisinger)

Just a shame. Maybe the north winds help wash out the red tide?

thats the same tarpon they had caught the day before at sharkfest. i think the combined affcts of a 45 minute fight and the red tide killed it. its a shame.  Sad Cry i hope we get more texas tarpon like that.
