Yet another busy week of fabulous fun filled fall fishing...catching? well, yes and not so much.  First half of the week I guided some guys from Houston for 3 days of fly fishing.  First day was ok, but the wind made putting a cast with the flyrod very difficult.  Second day we had the cool front hit us and made fishing extra diffucult with murky water and strong north winds (by the way, only 1 trout caught on day two  Sad )  The final day was a little better.  found several herds of drum with several reds in the mix.  the guys caught a mixed bag of drum, reds, trout, and 2 sheephead.

On Thursday i had another fly charter and once again mother nature reared it's ugly head.  Two hours into our trip, the northern hit and blew out a large part of the shorelines i generally hit. Needless to say, another bad day. no Fish on fly today.  Sad

My Friday charter got cancelled so i was left with a Saturday deal for the weekend.  I was pretty excited becuase it was going to be a conventional gear fishing day and fully expected much better results than the previous outings.  The morning was gorgeous with light winds from the north and ice creamy conditions on the bays....smoooooooooth. As i ran around looking for fish, i was a little dissappointed on the lack of fish.  I stopped after a while and had the 2 of the 3 guys take a short wade while i poled the other gentleman.   A couple of dinks is all that came out of it.

I moved around again and still couldn't see any area with great numbers of fish.  i settle for fishing a little deeper water assuming the fish were holding near the ICW.  After a some what long wade and drift, only 2 trout  found themselves laying on a bed of ice.  I moved around again and finally found a good amount of reds, however they weren't very interested in entertaining us. So after mucho grief and lots of casting, on ly a couple more trout made their way to the deep freeze.  Lots of dink trout were had all morning long which is encouraging for the future, however, today was a tough day for me.   Cant' always kill'em.

Til next time. ...oh, that would be tomorrow and we have another front that is set to make an appearance around 9-10:00 am.  Cry
