Yes sir, an after the fact prosecution would be a good deterrent! But that's up to the tournament directors and officials to follow through and I guess sometimes it's just easier to let it go?

If you want to make a difference, stop fishing the tournaments that refuse to prosecute cheaters! So long as the deterrent is only a DQ and sweep it under the rug the cheaters will continue to try and steal your money.

I have just started fishing the flats recently . My friends fish in POC and have invited me to fish some tourneys with them. Last friday we fished the oilmans tourney and with alot of hard work wading and casting artificials and some good luck we were able to win biggest stringer. My friends have won this tourn 2 years in a row now, just 1 year for me. But others quitly said we cheated. It did not set well with me to hear the murmurs of cheating in the crowd. We fished hard and won, All on plastics mind you, and if one is not sure of cheating going on they should not say so. If you cant out fish someone take your whooping, load your boat, and dont make accusations you cant back up. If people were cheating then shame on them. All you have to do fish and enjoy

I've heard rumors of people cheating at tournaments, but I just turn away.
If you decide to cheat, it should fall on you as an individual.....
The greatest pleasure is getting to dock after a good day and knowing that all the fish brought in on my boat were well earned in the process of having a good time.

Just get on the water and fish.....
