Great work and congratulations. Can you help me understand where the funding is coming from? Is the funding already approved? When do you anticipate the project starting and how long will it take to complete?

Many thanks.

It is about time the permit comes through. My only concern is; COE pulling something stupid like revoking the permit or trying to block the work with some other roadblock.

Lets hope not. Hopefully all will go smoothly with no more problems.

Nothing is inevitable except death and taxes. I can not say that we won't have any more problems, I can only hope that everything goes smoothly from here on out. We are ready for anything. Jk, as for the funding. We have applied for a CEPRA grant and IF, we get it, we can get started this year. The CEPRA grants is though the GLO. We have applied for the BP Gulf Restoration grant which will go though GLO and if I understand it correctly TPWD. After hearing from several people about making donations, the County set up a tax deductible account for the Cedar Bayou Vinson Slough project. One can make a donation to the county payable to Aransas County and write Memo Cedar Bayou Project on the check. Hugo and I are working on another possible funding path. We need about $380,000 to get started, which I am hoping that GLO will once again grant us that money though CEPRA. There is about 24 million in that pot right now for the CEPRA grant program. This will take some work and time. This is nothing new to us. The money is out there, even in these hard times, we just have to go get it. As always I will keep you posted on our progress. Once we get started dredging it will not take to long to complete the job. I would say 2 or 3 months. The work has to be done between April 15Th and October 15. The cranes will be here from October 15 and leave out around April 15Th.  Lynn

Old Plugger, The passes will be cut 100x6', which as you know we started out wanting 328x12'. I will take what we got. It is better then nothing. I was worried about the 100x6' but when you have the worlds best engineers, this ain't no big thing for them. These passes will do what they want to when they are open again in a proper way. As for the spec's, give us some time and you will know just what will be done to restore these passes. We are all in shock right now, so when I get my breath I will share that info. Old Plugger, I know that you won't understand this, but it is like having a baby, it takes a few days to get back on your feet. Wink Love ya guy.

As someone who has been dreaming of an open Bayou for ten years, I sent my check to Judge Mills today.  I hope others will do the same.
