Hey! Decided to take up fishing! I am headed down to Arroyo City next weekend.. Any advice I could use to make it a successful one! Went to Cabelas and got rod and reel.. some gold and silver spoons.. DOA shrimps, C.A.L jerk baits and some MinnOLure top water jigs.. Am I missing anything? I am planning on throwing some croaker out first with a popper and then switching if nothing is working..Pretty much just watching Addictive Fishing on YouTube to get advice..Any other good South Texas shows and websites I can learn from? Thanks for all the help!

I would throw out croaker and put the rod in the rod holder whole fishing with some plastics. I catch way more fish using lures than bait however I've never used croaker.
