I am looking for a place in Brownsville that has a reputable track record for quality repairs.  I tried Johnny's True Value some time back with not so great results...

I have heard about a guy named/called J.R. that does this type of work, any info would be greatly appreciated.

Last time I went to him I took him some Stradics and he said it would cost a lot to repair them, he never told me what alot was. Im looking for someone to repair some of my reels also. Looking for someone a little more professional. I wouldn't mind shipping them as long as they are fixed right. Hey Darkom when are you gonna show me the ropes on the water. Call me.

Guyz,

Thanks for info, I am only looking to replace the guides on 2 of my "trusty" 6'6" Castaways which have proven themselves over and over again for the past 12 years.

Darkom, if you get the address I would greatly appreciate it.  JTCG, good luck with those Stradics!!!

I know it is not Brownsville but try Joe's Tackle Shop in Mc Allen. He has done work on all my reels at a reasonable price and even replaced a couple eyes on my American Rodsmith Pro Series rod. It is located at 1120 Lindberg Ste. A. He is located behind the La Quinta on South 10th St.

Thanks for all the feedback gents...let's see how things turn out with the local rod repair.  I'll provide feed back once they are done and used to hook up on some fish.

Thx again!
