What we all have waited for, THE PERMIT HAS BEEN ISSUED!!!!!!!!! I would like to take this time to thank some very special people for their hard work on obtaining this permit. With out them we would not have gotten this far.

Vladimir Shepsis, Hugo Bermudez Coast and Harbor Engineers, Carlos Swonke Blanton & Associates. They are the true hero's here. They never gave up. I will let the world know just how special they are and what they did that and never ask for anything in return. My heart felt thank you to each and every one of them. To you that have played a huge part in this fight to make things right. God Bless you and my sincere thank you for hanging in there. You all are awesome.

WE DID IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is absolutely oustanding news!!!  Thank you and all who were involved in spearheading this whole fight.

I have one question only because I am pretty naive to the whole proccess.  Now that the permit has been issued, when will we actually see some work getting done on this??

I know alot of people have been patient for a long time to see this happen.

Again thank you for all of your efforts!!!!!!!!!!!

nitro777, Go question. We have completed all phases of the permitting process and we will now go into the funding phase. This phase will not take years to do. Actually work on the passes will began next year since it is to late for us to began any time soon. As you know we can not do any dredging during the time that the whooping cranes are down which is from Oct. 15th till April 15th. We will be using that time securing the funds and completing the things that must be done before we can begin dredging, such as pulling grass and replanting it in Bloodworth. We have to to get bids for the project, draw the plans and many other things that go along with a project such as this one. I know that a lot of people want to know about the funding. Trust me when I tell you that this project will be funded. Hugo and I have been working on that for some time now and compared to the permit process, this will be a cake walk. So people, get ready for a blow out party. I will do my best to keep all of you in the loop. I have always wanted you all involved in this project because I believe that you have a right to know what's going on, good or bad. I hope that you all feel as I do and that is, it has been worth it all. Any one that has unanswered questions, please feel free to ask and I will be happy to answer them if I can. Again thank you for being there.

That's absolutely outstanding to hear Lynn.  Can't wait to see the impact this is going to have on that area of the coast in the next 5 years or so.  I am just picturing the open pass in my mind right now...........looks like paradise.  Thanks for the explanation.

What great news! A buddy of mine and myself used to fish Cedar Bayou flats often but quit about two or three years ago. It got to where it was not worth the boat ride. We began calling it the "dead zone". I can't wait to make that boat ride again to that "new area of LIFE".

Great work! Give yourself a pat on the back you deserve it.
