quick report from yesterday. took two guys from the Dallas area out for some sight casting opportunities. We had what seemed like calm conditions at the dock, but as we got to the mouth of the arroyo we quickly saw that was not the case. the winds were not bad early on, but definitely not calm. I hit one of the popular west side venues early on and found some fish along the spoils. fished them for a while and managed to last 2-3 fish blind casting to them. the fish weren't tailing at all where i was so sight casting was out of the question until the sun came up.
I moved a little south and poled an area that held a lot of fish. They guys caught 8-10 fish during that session, however, nothing of great size. just some solid action.
eventually the sun came up high enough to spot some fish, unfortunately, the guys could not see them very well and the fish would spook before they had an opportunity to cast to them or their casts would be way off. They quickly realized they needed some practice. LOL
we continued fishing several different areas thoughout the day. wish i could say i found the mother load, but i didn't we managed to grind out some fish here and there to make the day somewhat enjoyable In total, about 23 fish were caught and released. Not bad numbers yet not great either. oh well........ the important thing is, clients had fun.
By the way, the TTF Eyes are still kickin' rearends and takin' names. Choice lures today were the hackberry hustler and KFM with the eyes of course.
