This saturday will be the first of many in a tradition I hope to get started on the LLM.

BFF's = Brownsville fishing fanatics

You don't have to be from Brownsville to enter but you can only enter at the Icehouse on Wednesday nights at 7:00 p.m.

Here is how it will go:

We get together over some great food and cold beverages, and talk a little fishing and such.

Everyone who wants to can put $50 in a hat and we will fish for the prize money on the following Saturday morning.  Everone on a boat must be entered to participate.  No non participant observers allowed regardless of age.

Here is the catch, each week or event we will only be fishing for one species - trout, red or flounder.  Participants will not know what species to fish for until the day of the event at 6:00 a.m.  Rules may vary from week to week, so one week may be a redfish spot tournament, or smallest flounder, or whatever we can dream up just to have a little fun.  No serious rules just getting together to have some fun.

Weigh in will always be at 12 noon at the first drum boat due east of Cullen's house.  Thats right a floatilla in the middle of the bay for a noon time get together.  Money will be paid out on the water.

100% of money paid back.

Launch from anywhere you want, just be at the drum boat by noon.

New wrinkle:

Everyone will put their choice of species and qualifiers in a hat and I will draw to randomly select the species for saturday.

Ex. Ruben writes down heviest red under 24 inches long
      Ralph writes down biggest flounder
Danny wants a trout closest to 17 inches

On Friday night I will draw to see what we will be fishing for and leave a voice mail on my answering machine that everyone can check and see what to fish for.

Sounds like fun.  How about if the winner of the week decides  what the following week will be.

I thought about it but if one guy is really on the fish he could keep winning by calling it every week.  I really think random selection is the way to go.

use the TFF site PM's for entries and qualifiers…? then post them here…

There are already several people who want to participate that are not TFF regulars.  Besides, the point is to get together and have fun  . .  a little less computer and a little more handshake.  The competition is just another excuse to fish.

We seem to be generating a lot of interest.  Remember you can only enter at the "ice house" tomorrow night.

See you there.
