I love my Castaway Skeleton Rod but I broke it doing some wading.. I think the 7ftr was too long for wading. I need a medium light power fast action 6'6 spinning rod... Castaway dont make so who makes one with the corkless handle? Waterloo? I havent felt thier rods will they be at fishing/ hunting expo? Any sponsor to this site make this type of rod?

Curtis at Waterloo can build you what ever you want with in reason. I have two of the 7' Slam Mags and love them with one exception; one of the rods has a bunch of that Texas A&M colors and logos on it. I don't think Waterloo comes to the outdoor show here but I do believe Laguna does. The guys from Laguna got their start working for Waterloo Rods but they have sold out to someone else and I have not heard any good reviews about their customer service. Don't take it the wrong way, I'm not bashing Laguna. I have used one of their rods and it worked great, felt good in my hands but I think Waterloo wins hands down.

Book a fishing trip with Dave Kveton - El Pescador Lodge, POC (361) 983-4832
He can hook you up with a great fishing trip as well as a Waterloo rod. I don't know if he has any spinning rods at this time. He had several baitcasting rods there last week.

HLO,
My wife's rod is a 7' Waterloo spinning rod with the titanium recoil guides. I will be out at SPI on Friday for a little while if you want to try out the action of the rod on a few cast. I'm sure I can convince her to let you try a few cast to see if you like the rod or not.
Try "On The Stringer Guide Service" for a local guide. I know Capt. Sonny has a couple Waterloos of his own.

Waterloo will be at the Hunters and Sportsmans Expo in McAllen next month, I've been using them for years and have put my hands on many other rods and Waterloo is the most sensitive and lightest rod on the market. I use braid an I can feel a Kelley Wiggler's tail paddle on the retrieve. And best of all, they are built right here in Texas by guys that actually fish

Loos are hard to beat. Very light, sensitive, and great back bone. Worth the money. I have a curado 51 tricked out on a 6'6 with power pro. Awesome set-up.
