Evil Here is the email address for the Galveston District Corps office of public affairs: swgpao@usace.army.mil Let us all email them about our displeasure with the way they have handled (or NOT handled) the Cedar Bayou mess. forward the email address to everyone you know that can send them an email. I don't know if it will help, but it certainly couldn't hurt!

Here is what I sent them.

I am wanting information about the status of the dredging permit for Cedar Bayou in Aransas county. Why is it no listed anywhere on your website. Is it a dead issue? Have the people in the public sector been cheated out of their right to know about this permit? Why the stall job on issuing the permit?

I would sincerely like to know what is really going on with this permit! Has it been denied? If so, then why hasn't someone been notified of such?

Mr. Brown,

Thank you for your inquiry. The Corps is currently evaluating the permit application you mention.

We have received revised plans for access to the project site, placement of dredged material, and mitigation from the applicant which was coordinated with the federal and state resource agencies and landowners for comment.
Copies of all of the comment letters were provided to Aransas County with our request that they provide us information to address the issues raised.  We received some additional information on April 29, 2011, which is currently
being evaluated.

We follow all the requirements necessary under the Rivers and Harbors Act, Clean Water Act, and the National Environmental Policy Act as efficiently as possible while maintaining a fair and reasonable decision-making process for the public. Our evaluation after receipt of comments often may take several weeks to compile once all the information that is necessary is submitted.

Sincerely,

ISIDRO REYNA

Reef Dawg, Where have you been Roll Eyes?? We are talking about the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers, somebody that lacks the skills, qualities, or ability to do anything properly. This includes telling the truth. They don't care about our wetlands, fisheries, or wildlife, and they don't care about us. THEY ARE THE CORPS!

Lynn, I still like the idea that we should all send them our dirty undies. We will need to set up a central shipping point so that a professional freight forwarding handler could pack them into large shipping crates and put on pallets. Labels and packing slip should read "Special Gifts Of Thanks To The Corps For Doing Such A Great Job"
From all your friends here on the middle coast.
