Great video, always a pleasure to watch your videos.  Keep em coming.  How far up the arroyo were you?  Were you closer to Rio Hondo than Arroyo to city?

I was  from the first houses of  Arroyo like 3 miles up river, actually i don't have a hot  spot just navigate or  pedaling  the river and  when i see them come to the surface or rolling over, then  i stop anchor the kayak and  trow the bait and  i wait for  the acction, that day i lost 2 and caught 1.

hey man great video an d awesome kayak! how would you haul a big gar if you caught 1? wouldnt it flop around too much to keep on board? my MAIN question is how do you get to or where are the spots to launch of on kayak for the fresh water part of the arroyo?

Thanks, about if  they flip to much, you need to wait until the  gar is tired, if  not it will turn around and  can grab your legs and trust me, they have really sharp teeth. About the launch spot, you can launch from arroyo and paddle up river and  search for them, they always moving, and the other launch is  from rio hondo, both place you have to make a long  paddle to find  them. But  when you see them on top you can throw you anchor and see  whats  happen.

I hear there is a giant gar lerking in the waters down at Bentsen State Park!
You can catch some pretty big ones in arroyo city too. I caught 5'4" one there

Yeah thats true. I used to fish lots of spots in Santa Monica and it used to hold tons of big gar but i haven't herd nothing since the flood hope the bigguns pile up soon agian

I fished there bout month ago for gar lost a monster was using my Penn battle 500 40lb braid 65lb wire leader with power stick rod heavy duty for saltwater this gar had to be 6ft+++ drag was nice n tight this monster took it like nothing I had to anchor my body down squat a Lil n hold on didn't give me a chance to reel just kept taking drag hard was awesome fight but I kno he was a monster o yea I'm 6'0 320 this fish would of pulled a small man in water easily!!!
