I want to make a donation to the Annual Fishing Break this year under the banner Texas Flats Fishing, not as a simple website, but as a community. The money they raise all goes to the Austin Firefighters Association with the exception of tournament cost. Donations help keep the cost to anglers down which keeps it inclusive to EVERYONE, entire families show up to fish it, so the anglers benefit as well.

I set the goal high, but I know we can reach it. I'll obviously be digging in to my own wallet, and FISHING IT!

Please understand that this isn't intended for those that can't afford to "give joyfully".

rwl1948,
Sure can, anyone that prefers to do it that way can just PM me for a mailing address.

shoalcat_james, take a look at the link Rodney posted, and be sure to keep that weekend open. As the time gets closer we'll plan something as a group, but I wanted to start this early to get the money raised.

If anyone feels generous, going over the monthly goal isn't an issue!

shoalcat_james, thanks buddy! When this is all said and done there will be numerous people that will benefit. Not only the anglers that get to participate, but especially the people that the Austin Firefighters Association help, I imagine they will be very grateful.
The members of this community will get full credit.

Not looking for the credit. I just didn't wanna be the first. Thanks rwl. It's funny in life that when you help someone, it always come back in a grateful way for you in life. I spend more than $50.00 to take my family out to eat in one night. Just thank what 50.00 will do for the guys on the beat helping save homes, families, and what they can from a devastating thing. It's the least I can do to help out to the people I never wanna see at my house, BUT thank GOD for them if I ever needed them. I also give to Texas Children's Cure Kids Cancer. If anyone looks for a place to give. It's a wonderful place. As little as a $18.00 donation helps one kid for a month that lives by a I.V. pole day in and day out.  I challenge everyone that CAN afford it to help the firefighters that help you in life.

I feel bad about not being able to donate to a great cause right now. If things work out I may be able to donate later this month.

Mr Dean
I'm new on here and so I would like for you to ask you to inform me what is this fundraiser I keep seeing your doing and if it is a good cause how do I add to it. I understand its for Austin Firefighters  Is it for the whole city or one station in general and what is the money going to buy. I would rather send a check or money order
My husband I fish in the bay and I really have enjoyed the web site

Ms. McGee,
Welcome to the site, I'm glad you enjoy it, that's it's main purpose.

Our donation will go to the Annual Fishing Break that's held in Port Aransas, it will be announced as "donated by the members of texasflats.net". The purpose of the fishing break is to raise money for the Austin Firefighters Association.

So the money ultimately serves two purposes, keeps the tournament affordable, and therefore all inclusive, but more importantly it supports the Austin Firefighters Association.
What they have done is set up a fund to help victims of catastrophic events such as fire, flood, storm etc. to get back on there feet, and another thing they do is help families of severely injured, or fallen firefighters.

The Annual Fishing Break is in June and I'm hoping we can have a lot of members from here participate, so when the donation is announced we can all let everyone know how happy we were to participate.

Anyone else that would prefer to send a check can PM me for an address.

We passed the goal this month and off to a good start on making the goal overall, I know we'll make it because I know we have a ton of good people on here that like to "help".

To those of you that already gave so generously, I'm grateful, and moved by the generosity. It's a good cause that will touch a lot of people.
