Absolutely reeltime - we will celebrate when the equipment arrives on site.

Lynn, what about the funding? Is that in place?

I want to thank everyone that took the time to attend and show their support! There is no doubt in my mind that we would not be where we are without public support, one can win a fight but it takes an army to win a war and the more public attention we brought to this issue the more cooperative the various agencies became. So thanks to everyone that has written letters, attended meetings, and showed up at events, it is what has moved us forward.

The flotilla was amazing, there were about 40 people on the beach including the various agencies and supporters, I didn't get a negative vibe from anyone involved. It wasn't "us against them", it was more like "let's be sure we do this right".

I could see in the distance that there were a lot of boats in the channel but I didn't get to count them, one of the folks in in a boat said she estimated 50 boats... That's far beyond what I expected and I'm grateful to each and every one of you. You were a part of history and when you take your kids or grand kids fishing out there you can share how you took an active role in insuring that this pass was restored.

On a side note, I went out of the Port Mansfield Jetties on Saturday and witnessed the most amazing migration I've ever seen.. Bait balls as far as you could see with Bonita, Kingfish, Spanish Mackerel, Tarpon, and Shark all in pursuit.. Birds working for miles and miles.... And all I could think about was this is what Cedar Bayou will be like when we get it restored..

And for those worried about it getting "crowded" when the pass is restored need to knowthat's the most selfish BS I've ever heard! How dare anyone want to see a natural disaster go unchecked because they want an area all to themselves... I won't waste my breath or time talking to them. If you don't like crowds find a new spot because we're not stopping until this pass is restored for those that own it, the PEOPLE.

Carry on...

I was out of town and could not make it....
Or there WOULD have been 51 boats!!

But, I KNOW someone had a camera!!!
How about posting some pictures of a historic moment for all to enjoy!

Hot dang, I think I did it. The group is walking towards the sand dam. They are walking in the Cedar Bayou channel. To the left is the old connection of Cedar Bayou to Vinson Slough. This is the worst I have ever seen the Bayou.
