Went out for a fun day on the water with 2 friends and my brother. We arrived at the park at 6:30 and decided to go south. We hit Cullen bay and did a few drifts but only managed to pick up a keeper trout. The rain was about to catch up with us so we moved a little north behind the Duncan and no luck. While we were moving we saw a funnel cloud towards the east. Then we say it touch down and we decided to be photographers for a while since we hadn't caught anything. The rain came again and decided to take cover at a house for a little while. Another boat pulled up and I joked with my buddies that it was probably the owner. Well what do you know it actually was the owner. He was a very nice gentlemen with his wife and even let us borrow some chairs so we waited about 20 minutes for the rain to pass. Once the rain passed we went east and tried a few more drifts and only managed a rat red and my buddy was able to catch his first trout on a top water but it was to small. I told my friends that the last few trips we had done ok in rattlesnake bay and decided to go in and anchor for a while. After a few minutes my friend Rick hooked on to a red that got everyones spirits back up and recharged us. Soon after that I hooked up on a 27 inch red which I thought was going to break my rod when he hit it. We were all happy then we looked east and it was really dark and the wind really picked up. We all thought we were going to get wet now. We were about to move further north when my buddy rick hooks up to another red. We decided to wait it out since it appeared to be only wind. After that it was game on Rick limited out, I caught 2 red, my brother caught 2 red, our buddy JC caught a 25 inch trout, and we managed another 4 trout in between. My buddy JC really wanted a red and what do you know at the end of the day he caught one slightly over 20. Total fish for the day was 8 reds, and 6 trout worth the wait. We had a great day on the water in the company of great friends looking forward to our next outing.

Man, I wish I had been able to make it out with you guys. It's very few times I back out on a trip but this FLU thing really got me good. I'm glad you guys got them good and enjoyed yourselves. Maybe we can get a trip going soon. Pinche "chunkers", ha! ha!. Nice pics guys.

Hey OVERSIZE!! thatnks for waiving me down that day!! man that wind and rain made for some rough water and i was getting slammed in the ditch!! looks like i should have stayed out a bit longer! but did good with the smoke poles knocking down some dove! maybe see you out again next saturday!! hopefully its not too bad out!! Oh and i ended saturday with 2 keep trout and a handful of dinks! cant seem to find em!! saw a pretty cool water cyclone that day as well!! good thing it was a few miles away!! tight lines and singing drags!!

GOOD REPORT. I was there that day with my wife and girls. we got some good pictures of that funnel cloud that touched down. It was pretty cool. I thought about going to Rattlesnake, but it looked like I would get wet there, so I went north to the saucer. Only got a rat red and a 20" black drum. still a nice day.
