I heard that there is a meeting regarding the opening of Cedar Bayou at Fulton, Paws and Taws, September 16.    What time is the meeting and is it open to the public?   Thanks ......................

Sept. 16Th Jerry Patterson, Texas General Land Office Commissioner will be at the Paws and Taws. He is running for reelection and is on the campain trail. I am sure that Cedar Bayou will be brought up during his visit. It will cost you a small donation to get in the door. Huh?

I can say for a fact that Jerry Patterson and the GLO has supported this project a 100% from the start. Like all of us, Mr. Patterson is waiting on the CORPS to send him the approved permit so he can sign off on it. I will also say that Mr. Patterson since being with the GLO has been the only agency to have supported this project. He is a fisherman and knows Cedar Bayou and Vinson Slough and how important they are. By the way, like Cedar Bayou, Vinson Slough is STATE owned land, always has been and that will never change.

Hey Lynn, I have a couple of questions. First, given the fact that "the landowner" does not own any portion of CB/VS, why in the world do they have any say so in this matter whatsoever? Second, What about the State exercising the use of Eminent Domain in this matter? If the State took a strip of land away from "the royal family", in the best interest of the citizens and their well being, then the feds could no longer throw any more obstacles in the way regarding "the landowner's concerns". Just thinking out loud.

My Grand Dad said that money can buy anything, except love and a seat in heaven.  Grin God only knows why people do the things that they do. It would be a wonderful world if all people rich and poor would put the best interest of others before them selves. I am a realist and I know, that will never be the case. It is beyond me how people that have so much could care so little about anything except them selves's. We are all land owners here and we have a vested interest in those two passes. We all have in one way or another paid to open those passes. One day very soon, the cat will be let out of the bag and the truth will be known. As the old saying goes, give them enough rope, and they will hang them selves. As for the feds and the other agencies, remember that we pay these people. Believe me I have all their names down and pay back is a *****.

I am working on the contacts we talked about, Lynn. I have been getting the run around but I will get what we talked about sooner or later.

Just saw this flyer posted at Tackle Town.  Obviously Cedar Bayou will be very much on the agenda.  This would also be a good time to ask Mr. Patterson some pointed questions about Rollover Pass.  It is my understanding that he and the GLO were some of the drivers behind the recent decision to close Rollover.  It is important that we recognize though, that Rollover Pass is a completely different situation than CB.  In case the attachment does not make it you can find details at http://acrpnews.rwsextras.com/
