Reelfidler, I agree with you and we are doing something about this last issue from the CORPS. I have been digging for information and I am not the only one it seems. Remember the post on the dredge over around Cedar Bayou? I found out that an oil and gas company was working on the Mesquite Bay channel, the very channel that came into question. The channel work was permitted by the CORPS and the lease was obtained from the GLO. This channel was accessed by the Star Brand Cattle Company ( Todd Lee Winn) who ferried his cattle to and from the Matagroda Island, to the Sea Gun harbor. It was used as access for all dredge projects, 1939, 1959, 1987, and 1995. At no time was their problems doing so, until now, but wait, TPWD has always done each of the dredge projects. Catch my drift! We are looking into the concerns of the so-called land owner. Remember now, that we all are land owners, yet where are the concerns for our rights. I have found some very interesting information. I found out who closed off the passes in 1979. The U.S. Coast Guard, coordinated with TPWD to close the passes. The CORPS granted them the permit to fill in the passes. TPWD Executive Director, Charles D. Travis, TPWD Commissioners, Chairman, Perry R. Bass, Joe K. Fulton, Pearce Johnson, James R. Paxton, Edwin L. Cox Jr., and W.B Osborn Jr.. The passes were closed, but why did they not reopen the passes after the threat of the oil spill was over? All we have to do is look at the players. I will get back with you guys real soon. I will keep you up dated. Law suit,we shall see.
