The 4000-6000 series runs about $259.00; I carry all light tackle Shimano spinning reels ... 2500 series (8-10 lbs test), it would be smart to carry a mid-heavy action reel ... just in case you get into a school of Jacks or run into a tarpon like marker150 did the other day.

... a Thunnus CI4 would go well with my Temple Fork Outfitters rod that I bought @ Johnny's True Value a while back.

Looks Sweet! Im like honu., I only carry 2500 series. I own a ci4, and its the best spinning reel I have ever used. Getting ready to purchase another ci4. Those thunnus are a little to big for my liking.

... Temple Fork Outfitters (TFO) is a well known & respected fly-fishing rod making company, very reasonable price for the quality IMO ... $99.00 @ Johnny's True Value.  Don't know the whole story, but I believe Gary Loomis sold out G-Loomis, and is now partners with TFO.  Gary Loomis designed the Signature Series for TFO ... I bought a 7'6" ML, a tad heavy for free shrimping, but it's great for popping cork, big top water & flinging finger mullet.  In comparison to my 7'6" All Star, my TFO is extremely lighter w/plenty of back bone.

All I fish with out of a boat is 2500  FI stradic. For the price I love them.NO TROUBLES. Never used a c-14 but I don't think it can top my FI series.I do carry a old white series 4000 stradic for bigger tackle use.2 ,2500's,1 ,4000 and all with TTF 7'6" redfish rods.My next reel is going to be a 3000 Stella.

Ike ... you're going to love it, it a reel of a life time.  I have my 3000 Stella matched up with a G-Loomis Green Water (6'9"), great combo.
