Heading to the Kenai Peninsula in Alaska this Friday to try and catch my first King salmon on the Kenai River ( wish me luck ) and then to Homer for some halibut. I'll be posting pics as I get them.

Who was the guide for that fish? Looks like about 65-70 pounds of great steaks.

If things are really slow on the Kenai, head over to Sterling Alaska and fish the mouth of the Moose river where it dumps into the Kenai. That is where I caught all 3 of these in one morning:

Hooked in the tail. Landed photographed and released. 50 inches, about 55lbs  (FEMALE)

Hooked in the dorsal fin; landed, photographed and released.  45 inches, 50lbs     (MALE)

Hooked in the mouth; 42 inches 45lbs (FEMALE)
